Charlotte Olympia for MAC…
Today brings all of you MAC lovers yet another new collection from the number one favourite MAC. Collaborating with the gorgeous Charlotte Olympia (known for her vintage aesthetic that embodies elegance and femininity with a hefty dollop of charm.) The collection is inspired by pin-ups, silver screen sirens and the bygone era of old Hollywood Glamour.
The range features lipsticks, nail lacquers and cream colour bases with cute spiderweb detail featuring across the range’s packaging.
Priced from £10 upward, this range is as gorgeous as ever and matches the rest of MAC’s full range quality.
We tried out the gorgeously matte ‘Starlett in Scarlett’ lipstick, £17. A classic true red, perfect for all occasions, vanilla scented alike the MAC full range, and sweeps on like a dream. Packaged in a spiderweb adorned perspex casing looking through to the gold bullet, this is a must have for your dressing table!
We loved the Cream colour base in ‘Golden Age’, £17.50 too… our tester said: Firstly the packaging is beautiful, you can tell straight away that it’s a Charlotte Olympia product. The spiderweb is adorable and I love the gold touches on the branding, which makes it feel a little extra special.
This cream base is lovely, not something I would usually go for as I prefer powders. The aim is to give the wearer a dewy finish, something I favour as I do believe ‘less is more’ so it’s lovely when worn with just a little mascara and a nude /bold lip. The consistency is semi-thin, so there is a lot of room to build up for a heavier finish, which is what I opted this time to give my eyes more of that awake look. When I initially started applying this I used a brush to pat the product onto my eyelid and then blended upwards just over the crease and onto the browbone, using just a little to line under my lower lash line to finish off. I got a very sheer pearly finish which is barely noticeable and chose to build up to achieve a deeper gold, that was feature I liked about this product, it allowed me to choose how dark I wanted to go.
During the day, the base stayed in place and never fully dries down or smudges, again to give the wearer a dewy finish. Instead of being overly shimmery it’s wonderfully understated and gives more of a pearly sheen which can be quite elegant if you’re doing a casual or pulled together look.
