The transformation begins

We’ve been long in the process of actually getting around to transforming rooms in the house and its finally starting to take off and actually beginning to transform.

Finally the entrance hall is nearly there… All i need now is a good coat rack for the wall and I think we may e done albeit a little bit of electrical work! I once hated this mirror – the other half got it in a bulk deal with endless furniture, a shed a lawnmower and more when he moved in 10 years ago, for a barg price of £150 all in… I’ve forever hated it – maybe it just needed dressing… now turn it 90 degrees and it’s growing on me… how?! 🙈 I shouldn’t complain as this means one less thing to replace for now – and the money can go on another detail for somewhere else in the house!

Stay home & stay safe with ten top tips for safety at home with Fairy Non Bio.

Our favourites for George, Fairy Non Bio have worked with ROSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), to create some top tips to help keep all of our children safe at home. With more of us spending more time at home, these tips are more important than ever, to prevent accidents and help relieve the pressures on the NHS.

Fairy Non Bio is also partnering and working alongside, presenter, model and mum Vogue Williams, who took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of how she cares for gorgeous baby Theo.

Vogue: “Spending more time at home means it’s more important than ever to make our homes safer for our little ones. I’m excited to continue working with Fairy Non Bio to raise awareness of the unexpected hazards in the home – including during the laundry, cooking and even just getting ready in the morning.

Taking little actions can make a real difference. For example, when doing laundry, it’s important to always close the pack with a ‘click clack’ sound and keep out of reach of children.”

Top Tips Include:

THE LAUNDRY POD – Laundry pods are made to be used by adults. Treat them how you would all household items. Keep them out of reach of children and close the pack securely with a click clack after use.

THE HAIR STRAIGHTNER – Unplug and put them away and out of reach of children straight after use, to avoid burns.

THE HOT DRINK – Keep out of reach of children, so they don’t accidently spill hot liquid on themselves.

THE CURTAIN CORD – Keep curtain cords wrapped up high and tight so children cannot play with them.

THE POT AND PAN – When cooking, turn pot and pan handles inwards.

THE GRAPE – Cut grapes into small pieces so that children can easily eat them.

THE HANDBAG – Keep handbags up high to avoid toddlers putting small items in their mouth.

THE BUTTON & COIN BATTERY – Coin batteries are more common in household items, but are very dangerous if left loose. Dispose of straight away, as they are a common choking risk for children.

THE PENCIL – Pencils count as sharp items so it’s important to keep them out of reach of little hands, and supervise very young children when they are using them.

THE DISHWASHER POD – Keep dishwasher pods out of reach of children and use the child lock feature to keep the door closed whilst the cycle is on.

Go green and reduce your carbon footprint with Dantoy Toys!

Check out this brand-new “I’m Green” line of bioplastic toys from Dantoy. Made of at least 90% sugarcane, a sustainable raw material, Dantoy’s bioplastic is 100% recyclable.

Dantoy’s range of bio toys includes this popular 22-piece, pretend play dinner set which can be used for garden picnics. Ideal for playing it is safe, durable and toxin free. It encourages social skills, interaction and helps children to learn whilst having fun. We were kindly #gifted a set for George to try out and he loves them. They are made well, and can sustain any banging and crashing around (just like any other plastic) that little ones absolutely love doing! They’re also a lovely muted green colour too, rather than the common rainbow brights you get in most children’s toys.

Dantoy leads the way with their bioplastics. The manufacture of bioplastics reduces carbon emissions. The sugarcane is cultivated on controlled, pesticide-free plantations in central and southern Brazil and is harvested every 6 – 12 months. Bioplastic made of sugarcane is a 100% sustainable raw material. Making the sets a green planet friendly option which essentially makes way for a healthier planet for our little ones to live on in their futures!

Sugarcane can be harvested several times a year and new plants are planted every five to seven years. The fields are harvested every six to twelve months enabling them to be classified as a sustainable raw material too. Another great bonus is that Sugarcane absorbs carbon dioxide from the air, thereby minimising the greenhouse effect. For the manufacture of bioplastic, the carbon emissions accounts are positive from the budding of the plant until it is manufactured into bioplastic. For each kilo of manufactured bioplastic, 3.09 kg of carbon dioxide is removed from the atmosphere.

An added bonus is that Dantoy’s packaging is all made from recycled cardboard. Their toys are made to last and are approved for contact with foods, microwave safe, dishwasher safe, frost-proof and contains no toxins. – More green and eco credentials which we believe is great, creating an all round eco green product!

Dantoy believe that people should buy less & buy well. That is why their toys are only made with sustainable products. We can all be eco-friendly and by choosing brands who care will make a little difference.
